kuen-do

Our emblem bears the familiar Ying/Yang symbol in its modernized form. It intrinsically signifies the need for one to not be attached to traditions. This, in other words, means we should acknowledge, but not attach.

The 2 "swooshes" or "arrows" are bi directional, which signifies "the return to original sense of freedom" when they are moving inwards. The outwards motion of the arrows is seen as the "liberation of forms" .

The two colours are red and gold. Red represents a fiery passion while gold stands for excellence. Together the message is clear, "To possess the passion for the utmost perfection"

The characters circling the symbols are in Chinese, acknowledging the Chinese origin of Wing Chun, which in turn, is the predecessor of Kuen-Do. The phrase at the top means "to break away from the bondage of systems and forms", while the lower phrase translates into "to achieve a state of being one with nature".
